HIV is everybody’s business. It touches all of us regardless of occupational status and gender. There are 15 employees living with HIV in every group of 1000 in Jamaica. The Office of thePrime Minister and the Office of the Cabinet are participating in the national HIV/AIDSresponse. This HIV/AIDS Workplace Policy is the statement of our commitment to HIV/STIrisk reduction and non-discrimination to employees and management living with and affectedby HIV. The policy draws upon the National HIV/AIDS Policy approved by Parliament in 2005and uses as a reference the National Workplace Policy on HIV/AIDS, and the ILO Code of Practice on HIV/AIDS in the world of work. 

This HIV/AIDS Workplace Policy was development for implementation through the efforts of the Focal Point on HIV/AIDS and the HIV/AIDS workplace programme steering team.

The organizations to which this policy applies are ministries, departments and agencies under the purview of the Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Cabinet.
