National Civil Honours and Awards 2012

The National Honours and Awards

The National Civil Honours and Awards is the premier awards programme of the government for citizens of Jamaica and, in some cases, for non-citizens who have made outstanding contributions to Jamaica or to the world. It recognises exemplary public service, outstanding feats of gallantry and persons who have advanced the upliftment of the name of Jamaica both at home and abroad. It brings these luminaries into a Society of their own and the recognition stays with their name for all time.

The public is invited to nominate persons for the following areas:

Order of Merit, Order of Jamaica, Order of Distinction, Badges of Gallentry
