SUPPORT US TO FIGHT CRIME - PM GOLDING

Prime Minister Bruce Golding has called on the nation to support the anti-crime bills seeking to defeat organized crime. He was speaking at the opening ceremony of Expo Jamaica at the National Arena yesterday, (June 17).

Mr. Golding said that the Government accepted that the six anti-crime bills currently in Parliament and the anti- gang legislation will have objectors, but that he was committed to see crime defeated.

"I acknowledge that we not going to satisfy everybody but one thing is clear, we have to get on top of this crime problem and believe me if we do not get on top of this crime problem it will not be for the lack of trying and I am prepared to take whatever criticism comes with that."

The four-day expo will run until June 20 and will expose manufacturers and exporters to an international market.
