PRIME MINISTER GOLDING REGRETS PASSING OF CUSTOS FARQUHARSON OF ST ELIZABETH:
Prime Minister of Jamaica Bruce Golding has noted with respect, the passing yesterday (April 16) of the Custos of St Elizabeth, Albert Farquharson.
The Prime Minister recalls Mr Farquharson as a senior Custos who served his parish with outstanding dignity and who was devoted to several causes, chief of which was education.
Mr Golding noted that "Custos Farquharson gave his life to the development of the parish first as a teacher and principal and then as its first citizen, the Custos. His life exemplified the work ethic of the bread basket parish of Jamaica, St Elizabeth. On behalf of the government, I give thanks for his many years of service as Custos and extend condolences to his family."
