NTP CALLS FOR PERSONAL AND NATIONAL
INTROSPECTION

& A FRESH START!

The
National Transformation Programme (NTP) Fresh Start (a partnership of
Church, State, Private Sector and Patriotic individuals), whose National
Director is Rev. Al Miller, calls the nation at this time to be
introspective, reflective, and contemplative on what has brought us to
this point and our individual roles in the process, whether by omission
or commission.  In addition the NTP calls all to
think about where we want our nation to be in the coming weeks, months
and years.
The events
of the past week such as the unlawful challenges to the State, the
response of the Security forces resulting in 77 citizens dead, hundreds
of angry, disillusioned citizens, along with evidence of various forms
of illegality, all speak to that which must be transformed!  The cry for transformation, now being echoed
throughout all strata of society, gives all Jamaicans the opportunity to
play a significant part in the continuing process of tackling the tough
social issues which have stifled the quantitative and qualitative
growth of our nation.
We commend
the Government for its boldness in allowing the Security Forces to act
decisively.
We applaud
the courage of the security forces. We regret the loss of lives
particularly the innocent.
---

We
acknowledge that there is a price to pay for real change BUT we ask that
we all be mindful that all our actions should be guided by right
principles and values such as justice, truth, respect & reverence
for life and the dignity of every citizen.
We
encourage all Agents of the State to treat all citizens as First Class
Citizens and that all citizens respond as the First Class Citizens we
are, displaying patience, kindness, love and mutual respect to all.

As we move forward in the process of national
transformation, the NTP challenges all citizens to use the opportunity
afforded us through this crisis, to make a Fresh Start and commit to a
season of Peace and Forgiveness to pave the way for increased
productivity and prosperity as we endeavour to be a nation where every
citizen is a First Class Citizen, every citizen a Producer, Nation
Builder or Valued Contributor and every citizen a Peacemaker.
