NEW VOCATIONAL CENTRE FOR GLENDEVON, ST JAMES

The Ministry of Water and Housing has received the green light from Cabinet to acquire Lot 14, Glendevon Industrial Estate, St. James at a cost of $5.5 million. The lot will be developed as a vocational training facility for disadvantaged youth in Montego Bay.

This was announced by Minister with responsibility for Information, Daryl Vaz, at the Post Cabinet Press Briefing at Jamaica House yesterday  (April 21).

The 1.44 acre lot will be developed by the Ministry of National Security under the Citizen's Security and Justice Programme. When completed, the centre will offer training courses targeted at youth in the deep urban areas of Norwood, Bottom Pen, Glendevon, Rose Heights, Salt Spring and Canterbury.
