NEW ENERGY POLICY TO BE PRESENTED TO PRIME MINISTER
Prime Minister Bruce Golding will receive the National Energy Policy before the end of the week. This was announced by Minister of Mining and Energy, James Robertson at the Town Hall meeting in Clarendon on September 23.
"The energy policy is ready and will be in front of Cabinet and Parliament. I speak to the Mineral policy to allow the strongest sector in Clarendon to be protected and further developed," said Minister Robertson.
Reminding the audience that the government announced the diversification of the country's energy base to include Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Minister Robertson said that the move would "take the cost of energy off the backs of the householder and the productive sector...The energy sector is the sector that will and can make the greatest difference to our productivity and lives in the shortest space of time."
