NEW BOARD APPOINTED FOR WOMEN'S CENTRE

A new board has been appointed for the Women's Centre. This was announced by Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special Projects, Daryl Vaz, at the Post Cabinet Press Briefing at Jamaica House on July 28.

The Board which will be appointed until July 2012 are:

• Chairman, Miss Princess Lawes, Commissioned Minister in the West Indies Union Conference of Seventh Day Adventists
• Rev Dr. Alma Blair - Minister of Religion
• Pastor Jennifer Owens - evangelist
• Mrs. Fay Hutchinson - insurance executive
• Mrs. Dorothy Findlayson, JP - businesswoman
• Mrs. Gerthlyn Holman - retired executive and volunteer
• Ms Margaret Grant, JP - Supervisor, National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA)

Ex-Officio Members are Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, Mrs Maria Jones; Executive Director of the Women's Centre, Mrs. Beryl Weir, and Director of Policy and Research at the Bureau of Women's Affairs, Mrs. Jennifer Williams.
