MICHAEL STERN REINSTATED AS STATE MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY:

Member of Parliament for North West Clarendon, Michael Stern, was officially reinstated as Minister of State for Industry, Investment and Commerce this afternoon (Nov 17) in a brief ceremony at Kings House.

Mr. Stern's service as Minister of State was interrupted briefly during the recent court case brought by the opposition regarding his dual citizenship. He stepped down as both Minister of State for Industry and Member of Parliament for North West Clarendon, but subsequently went on to retaining his seat in the by-election in September.

Michael Stern began his political career in 1995 and was elected Deputy General Secretary and Executive member of the youth affiliate of the Jamaica Labour Party, Generation 2000 (G2K).

Parallel to his political career, Mr. Stern distinguished himself as an astute businessman in the areas of commerce and telecommunications. His business interests are now established in some 22 countries in Jamaica, the Caribbean, Central and Latin America.
