JONES TOWN FIX UP TO START SOON
Road works and water supply in the deep urban community of Jones Town, St Andrew, will start soon as Cabinet has approved $32 million dollars to upgrade infrastructure in the community.
This was announced on Wednesday, October 22 at the Post Cabinet Press Conference by Minister with responsibility for information, telecommunications, and special projects, Daryl Vaz.
The contract to carry out the Jones Town Integrated Infrastructure Project is being executed by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund with funding from the World Bank. The contract for construction works including the laying 3,000 metres of water supply pipes, the rehabilitation of storm drains and the reinstatement of community roads has been awarded to Alcar Construction and Haulage Company.
