Working Visit

Prime Minister Bruce Golding (centre) hosted Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Kamla Persad-Bissessar and her husband Dr. Gregory Bissessar to dinner in Kingston on July 8 at the end of day one of her two-day working visit. During the bilateral talks earlier that day, Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar said that the agreements made for the takeover of Air Jamaica by Caribbean Airlines would remain and the name Air Jamaica would also be retained. She also announced that Trinidad Cement Limited had agreed to pledge J$50 million to an ongoing fund that would allow Jamaican children to travel overseas for life-saving surgeries that are unavailable here.
