Prime Minister Golding meets with Haiti’s Tourism Minister

Haitian Minister of Tourism, Patrick Delatour (left) expressed gratefulness to the government in helping Haiti to grow its tourism. He paid a visit to Prime Minister Golding at Jamaica House on February 25. Mr. Delatour was in the island to attend the third Tourism Outlook Seminar in Montego Bay where the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) designated Jamaica as the co-ordinating point for the development of Haiti's tourism. Mr. Delatour informed the Prime Minister that the road between the Port Au Prince and the tourism capital Cap Haitien is open, but air travel is still irregular. His country is looking at Jamaica's successful tourism marketing strategy as a model for its own approach. The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) designated Jamaica as the co-ordinating point for the development of Haiti's tourism.
