Agricultural Sector to benefit from increased Loan Financing

He made the announcement while addressing the third and final day of the 2008 Denbigh Industrial and Agricultural show at the Denbigh Show ground in May Pen, Clarendon yesterday (Aug 3).

Mr. Golding further indicated that farmers with good, viable projects could now access the J$1 billion loan facility announced in the budget debate. Both facilities have been provided through the Development Bank of Jamaica and can be accessed through the PC Banks.

The farmers were given further good news when Mr. Golding announced that the Government is actively pursuing another loan facility of US$80 million from the Caribbean Development Bank to further expand the loan facilities available to farmers.
